I’m so excited to introduce you to some of the amazing natural and curly women in my life. We come from different cities, backgrounds and even curl types, but at some point we all began to love our curls and start a courtship with them.
Meet Kimberly
Curl type 3B. I met this beauty my freshman year in college and she is simply the strongest, most positive person I know. Here’s her curl story.
Curly Courtship Began…
I fell in love with my curls after I lost them to chemo… in 2010. I didn’t know what I had until it was gone. Now I LOVE them! Before that point in my life, I didn’t realize how beautiful my hair really was. But I will say I love, love, love my short haircut. I love those waves and curls. But I also love my long curls too.
How do you get those curls?
I use Herbal Essence shampoo and conditioner (the moisture rising line). Then I put a little leave-in conditioner near the base of my neck because my hair and curls tend to get tangled a lot under there. Afterwards, I put on my Herbal Essence Totally Twisted Curl Boosting Mousse (in the purple can), then I put on the Suave Captivating Curls Whipped Creme Mousse. I really like this one because it’s very thick and very creamy and it really makes my curls stay. And lastly, I use the Mixed Chicks leave in conditioner just for my baby hairs on the front of my head.
